RETOLD future

RETOLD future

With the RETOLD project going through its final months and weeks, our focus lies not only on finishing the products and reporting, but also on how we will take care that what RETOLD developed and achieved will remain available, and where possible, be developed further.

EXARC, as lead partner of the RETOLD project, is responsible for doing just this. Also, as a community-based network, EXARC has substantial contacts around the globe. Some of these other networks and NGOs could be interested to pick up where we could take RETOLD so far.

The closing conference of the RETOLD project in September 2024 in the Netherlands sparked exactly such discussions with museums and specialists who had not been involved so far. Based on that, #IbelieveinRETOLD.

Following this, in early November, two RETOLD partners met in Berlin. EXARC was present with its RETOLD project coordinator and the EXARC director, and from Stiftung Stadtmuseum Berlin we included the director of Museumsdorf Düppel, also EXARC Vice Chair.
We discussed a strategy on how to keep the RETOLD platform running and on how to involve more museums for testing and feedback. Besides that, we investigated how we could possibly find partners to develop RETOLD further, as we have an overview of resources required (time, but also what kind of specialists). Finally, we discussed reporting issues and deadlines and assigned tasks for the near future.
