Personas - Sebastian

         I'm a hands-on person and not much good with computers, but I do want to help preserve our knowledge.

Sebastian is a woodworker and former boat builder. Has over 30 years experience as a traditional craftsperson. Developed an interest in local history during his apprenticeship. Works at a medium-sized open-air museum in Germany and is building a boat in his shed. Has helped maintain or build most of the exhibits.

Sebastian likes to work with his hands and takes pride in good craftsmanship. He enjoys demonstrating historical crafts to visitors as way of keeping tradition alive. He does not have a lot of time for digital technology, but also wants to remain relevant at his workplace ~ he knows every exhibit like the back of his hand.

Sebastian works a few days a week on maintaining reconstructions and the infrastructure of the museum. On special projects. he advises on materials and processes, which he enjoys lot.  During the visitor season he participates in workshops and demo's, sometimes as a “living exhibit".

Sebastian uses pen and paper for planning and documentation and occasionally browses YouTube for boat building documentaries He "hates smartphones".

A lot of the documentation at the museum seems very bureaucratic, and he finds it hard to concentrate on paperwork and archive materials.
Sebastian feels like he does not really understand “al these social media things" enough to be of use.

Sebastian needs a way to help document his processes and the reconstructions easily and practically. He needs documentation tasks to be clear and well-defined, so that the process does not become tedious and confusing. He needs a way to integrate his practical knowledge into the organisation to feel appreciated.
