At Erve Eme we bring back the past using re-enactment and living history. Our goal is to stimulate the (educational) interest in the local and regional history and development of human society in relation to the natural environment.
OKRA "Tutti i colori della preistoria" (IT)
OKRA is an Archaeological Thematic Park that offers the reconstruction of a slice of Neolithic life as a didactic/educational instrument designed to learning of the oldest history of human being, through the trial and the knowledge of his routines and to the knowledge and comprehension about the delicate relationships between Man and Nature.
Museo y Yacimiento Arqueológicos de las Eretas (ES)
The archaeological site of Las Eretas is a fortified village built in the 7th century BC near Berbinzana, in Navarra, north east Spain. The sites shows how Iron Age life of the 6th and 5th century BC was like and a museum close to the site displays the most important artefacts and explains the history of the site.
Parque Arqueologico de El Cabo (ES)
After the complete excavations (1999) showed the importance of the settlement, the Iron Age village of “El Cabo” was moved from the original site to prevent its destruction (it was close to an open air carbon mine) to the hill of San Macario.
Årsunda Viking (SE)
At Årsunda, you can visit the Viking Farm Årsjögård. Here you are in the middle of the Land of Iron, in the heart of the province of Gästrikland. You will experience cultural history in an exciting, informative and living way. The Viking Farm offers a variety of activities where theory and practice are mixed in a pedagogic way to stimulate all senses.
Complexo Mineiro Romano de Tresminas (PT)
Considered to be one of the largest mining exploitation sites of the Roman world, mining at Tresminas began during the reign of Emperor Augustus (27 BCE - 14CE), and lasted through the time of the Seventh Severo.
Jaciment Arqueològic L'Esquerda (ES)
Fundació Privada l’Esquerda – Museu Arqueològic de l’Esquerda The site l’Esquerda represents the Iberian Era (5th – 1st century BC) as well as the period between the 7th and 14th century AD. The area presented is the Plana de Vic, and the valley of the river Ter, all 70 km north from Barcelona, in the inner lands of Catalonia.
Curia Vitkov (CZ)
Open-air museum Curia Vitkov is run by an association of about 20 volunteers. The site of 2 hectares consists of a crafts village with 3 houses and 2 other constructions. Besides, there is the central Curia consisting of 6 dwellings and two other houses, two tower gates and a palisade, and lately a two-storey nobleman’s house with “black kitchen” and a medieval tiled stove. Into future, we plan for a stone-built Romanesque church which should complete the typical court. All buildings present varying timbering and roofing techniques, following typical construction patterns of the period according to the type of settlement. The area is not based on single excavations.
Parco Archeologico del Forcello (IT)
The Forcello Archaeological Park in Bagnolo San Vito, a few km to the south east of Mantova, rises around the remains of an important Etruscan settlement from VI-IV centuries BC. The archaeological excavations conducted on the site from 1981 to date, under the scientific management of Prof. de Marinis of the Università degli Studi of Milan, have brought to light, year after year, just a small portion of this settlement, but with a long stratigraphic sequence, defined in eight main phases.
Archeopark Praveku Vsestary (CZ)
Association for experimental archaeology, project Osada Všestary, connected to the University of Hradec Králové. First higher education centre for experimental archaeology. With much attention for their Neolithic project Monoxylon.
