Mittelalterlicher Friesenhof (DE)
The first Medieval Frisian open-air museum will give life to the characteristic lakeland environment and culture of the 13 century AD in a dismissed clay quarry.
Near Cappel-Neufeld a large mound built in the lake formed by clay soil extraction has given the base for the re-construction of a medieval Frisian farm. The peculiar culture of the "frisian freedom" in the late 13 century AD will take life both in the re-constructed farm both in the close relationship with the landscape: a live museum with a focus on living history, breeding and agriculture.
The project for the re-construction of the farm main building is based on archaeological research.
Currently the association that manages the project is collecting funding to provide resources for biological analysis.
