The museum holds the collection of the Museum of Prehistory in Wallonia (Musée de la Préhistoire en Wallonie) and this is the second most important collection of its kind in Belgium.
The house reconstructions cover many periods of time and form a good combination with the indoor museum; both of them are a sensory challenge – this is the museum who developed the travelling exhibition “close your eyes to see prehistory”. At various occasions, demonstrations are given in for example archery and hunting a 3D life-size target. Many staff members are professional archaeologists.
