  • Vogtsbauernhof Farmhouse: The centerpiece of the museum is the Vogtsbauernhof, a typical Black Forest farmhouse from the early 17th century. It showcases the traditional architecture with its wide, overhanging roof designed to protect against the region’s heavy snowfalls. The farmhouse is fully furnished, giving visitors an authentic look at how a wealthy farmer’s family would have lived.
  • Living History and Demonstrations: The museum regularly hosts living history demonstrations, where visitors can watch artisans practicing traditional Black Forest crafts, such as woodworking, basket weaving, and textile production. There are also demonstrations of farming techniques, including how farmers managed their livestock, harvested crops, and processed food in the past.
  • Traditional Agriculture and Livestock: Agriculture is a key theme of the museum, and visitors can explore traditional farming methods used in the Black Forest, from crop cultivation to animal husbandry. The museum maintains traditional breeds of farm animals.
